Mahesh Babu's timely and deadly move

Businessman's business proves that Mahesh Babu is undoubtedly sitting on the top at the moment. After delivering big hit with Dookudu, Mahesh is all set to register another good hit with Businessman. As per the current trends, Businessman should easily cross 30 crore mark within no time.

At this point, it is crucial for Mahesh Babu to plan the next move intelligently. He has already taken up a right project in Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, which has more chances to be a good hit at the box office. This is a family movie and what will be Mahesh's follow up movie to it?

Earlier it was believed that Sukumar will direct Mahesh's next film after SVSC. That may not be so clever as Sukumar is not known for handling big stars. Even Mahesh gave it a thought after looking at the response for Businessman. He is planning to replace Sukumar with Boyapati Srinu, who is known for mass masala movies. If this is to be believed then it will be surely a timely and deadly move from the Prince.

S.S Rajamouli's Eega Movie First Look

'Sankranthi Movies': A Detailed Report

The festival of Sankranthi is considered the most auspicious and exciting festival for the Telugus. It is not just about starting a New Year or tradition, but it is also about the arrival of the big films with big stars.

Traditionally, even watching cinema on the festival day is part of the rituals for many families.

This Sankranthi, three films came to the anvil to take the litmus test and here is a look at how the audience has received them. On a whole it stood as a firm difference in genre of films youth vs families!!

First in the list is the much hyped ‘Businessman’. Unlike the regular mass masala formula, an anti-hero of sorts was seen in Mahesh Babu and this caught many by surprise. The film was like ammunition to the youth as they got hooked to the powerful dialogues from Mahesh and his intense looks. The absence of comedy and hardcore action was a different experience to the audience and this attempt from director Puri Jagannadh seems to have worked well at the box office. The only thing waiting to be seen is whether ‘Businessman’ will get past ‘Dookudu’ or not.

Secondly, it was ‘Bodyguard’. Victory Venkatesh who has always been the favourite for family entertainers has not drifted his path and came again. Though the title sounds action packed, the film is total contrast. It is more to do with family viewers. Though the film is a remake, it managed to strike a chord with the family audience, especially the ladies. The initial response was quite mixed but by evening, the graphs picked up as family audience began to put tick mark to the film. The pairing up of Venky with Trisha was another plus point. On the whole, Bodyguard is a fairly good festival release with all the commercial ingredients in place. It is okay for a one-time watch.

Finally, it was the turn of ‘Nandiswarudu’ and this had the struggling Nandamuri Tarakaratna fighting it out to prove his presence. However, despite a good role by Jagapathi Babu and a sincere attempt by Tarak, the film failed to connect. The fact that this is also a remake of a Kannada film indicated the content and material in it. Already, the film suffered enough to get out of the boxes and hit the screens and though it has arrived, it won’t be long before it will get inside the boxes.

Overall, the Sankranthi result is satisfactory as two big movies(Businessman & Bodyguard ) have taken off on a strong note and they seem to be heading towards a hit. With not many biggies in the coming two to three weeks, the coast looks clear for them to make the most of it.

Final Word : This Pongal is Really Satisfactory on for Having 2 Hits for Telugu Cinema like Businessman & Bodyguard .
